Willis-Knighton offers six high-field MRI units in its hospitals and outpatient center, making them convenient to all residents of Shreveport and Bossier City.
The units include an open MRI at WK Bossier Health Center. In the past, open air MRI focused on comfort, but the quality of the image was sacrificed. The open bore Magnetom Espree MRI at WK Bossier Health Center offers the highest quality image – available only with a 1.5 Tesla magnet-- while giving patients the comfort of a wide opening. With the Magnetom, 60% of examinations can be performed with the patient’s head outside the magnet. This is an excellent option for patients of all sizes, including the obese, elderly and children.
Breast MRI is available at Willis-Knighton South and the Center for Women’s Health and at WK Bossier Health Center.
Pediatric MRI protocols are available at Willis-Knighton South, WK Bossier Health Center (on the open MRI) and WK Pierremont Health Center.
