On Wednesday, Dec. 28, William L. Norwood, M.D., a robotic surgeon at Willis-Knighton Health System, was the second surgeon in the United States to remove a diseased gallbladder through a patient’s navel through a single incision with the aid of a new FDA-approved da Vinci Si Surgical System. It was the first surgery of its kind in Louisiana and was performed at Willis-Knighton Medical Center.
Lauren H. Runnels, M.D., F.A.C.O.G., has joined Women’s Health Clinic in Suite 201 of the Physicians Center at 2508 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop in Shreveport. Dr. Runnels joins Jerry C. Dyess, M.D., Frederick J. Kinder, Jr., M.D., and Gregory M. Phillips, M.D., in the obstetrics and gynecology practice.
